On this page, you can find out more about some of the events planned by the SCR. For a gist of what has happened in the SCR, look at some of the events we have organised in the past years below, and check our calendar for what is to come. JCR FORMAL DINNERS

College Formals take place three times a term and are usually followed by entertainment put on by the JCR. The JCR organises a theme for each Formal and then come in fancy dress to match the theme, making for a vivacious atmosphere!

Members of the SCR are invited to dine on the High Table with the College Principal. We meet for pre-dinner drinks in the SCR and then process into the Dining Hall behind the principal to sit at the High Table. The dress code for Formals is a lounge suit or smart equivalent for all in attendance, although, at the Informal Ball, the SCR is encourage to join the JCR in fancy dress!

SCR FORMAL DINNERS

The SCR itself also runs formals from time to time. We have traditionally celebrated Chinese New Year with a formal. These are great opportunities for members of the SCR to get to know each other!

GATHERINGS

As well as the Members’ Nights and Formal Dinners, there are also less formal gatherings organised by our Social Committee. These range from film nights to cake afternoons and game nights in the SCR. Feel free to come along and get involved!

PLEASE NOTE: EVENT ORGANISATION

Every event that is organised is advertised to the whole SCR, so it’s also a great way to meet people who live out of college. If you have any ideas for an event or want to arrange something, please feel free to contact our Social Secretary, who will be more than happy to help out!
