BAR

St Aidan’s College Bar is for the college community and is run by the JCR Bar Committee with many postgraduates getting involved as bar staff. The bar has a projector TV, darts boards and a quiz machine. In summer you can enjoy a drink in the beer garden, which also plays host to the annual summer festival and college Pride. The bar hosts several events throughout the year, which will be advertised on our calendar and mailing list. To book a table in the bar, please message Aidan’s Bar.

The bar general opening hours are 7:30 pm – 11 pm on weekdays (from 7 pm on Fridays) and on the weekends it is open from 1 pm – 5:30 pm, then 6 pm-midnight on Saturday and 6 pm – 11 pm on Sunday. The bar’s license covers all the public spaces in college, though please note that the license requires that any alcohol you consume in those spaces must be bought from the bar.

SHOP-CAFE

The College Shop sells a variety of items that are particularly useful for livers-in. Pick ‘n’ Mix sweets, crisps, microwave popcorn, cereal bars and ice cream are among the range of stock. If you happen to have missed breakfast or lunch you can get toast, pasties and paninis as well as soft drinks, teas and coffee. In the evenings the shop also serves toasties, with a plethora of different fillings on offer! In addition to food and drink, the shop also stocks other essential items, such as paracetamol, pro-plus and washing tablets. Facebook message them with any questions.
